If you're starting in graffiti then you'll need a tag name. in today's video we're going to help you learn how to pick a graffiti tag name, but we're also going to take things one step further. We're going to help give you some tag name ideas that you can use as well. Throughout the video we'll go over a few tips you'll want to keep in mind when making a name and by the end of it, you should be able to come up with a name you're happy with.

2:59 - yes you do. A name that means something to you will last longer with you. If you just have a name out of the 100 names that you made from the letters you like, that wont stick. You have to have a name that you like, that resonates with you, and it doesn't matter what letters are in that name, because there is always a way around, for example, you can look up graffiti names with that letter that is hard for you and you will get inspiration from that.

The name I write is “Soda.” The reason I even started doing graffiti was from a video game I played as a kid, and Soda is the name of my favorite character from that game 😂 The first name I chose when I was younger was Tre” which is a shortened version of my actual name. It wasn’t until I started taking graffiti more seriously that I changed to Soda, which these are the 4 letters I enjoy drawing and painting the most (especially the letter ‘S’), and which I feel I can have the most fun with. That’s how I chose mine

I come up with Sam because its an acronym of my real name, but then i decided to level it up, and now use Sama or Samz for throw ups, piece, etc, Sam for tags or if im on rush, and samer for more complex pieces or burners

i grew up with my uncle doing graffiti/hiphop with his mates and i always found graffiti interesting. he goes by the name CLEKT which i thought was so dope and original. as years went on i kinda took that name as inspiration and came up with KREKT and did that for a bit. it felt like i bit his name and originality so i stopped and then i tried making my own name using parts of my real name and came up with DREM which uses my middle name being DRE and my last name that starts with M and just put the two together and it sounded nice so i just started going with that

HyViz has been retired now, but I only did work in high-visibility and reflective industrial paints. It’s retired because I boxed myself in, so pro-tip, don’t pick a name that is too thematic

I write Subi, stuck with it for around 7 months now, old name I wrote was Logik, only stuck with it for about a month, still relatively new to the Graffiti world though. I just wrote the alphabet over and over again in different designs, that's how I came up with Subi.

I write Yukz only because I find the letter combo cool, wrote "Yukaza" before but homies tend to call me Yakuza like the Japanese Mafia instead so I shortened it to Yukz. Also dabbling on my second name Esare, basically just erase backwards, I actually don't know why I started writing that, I was just practicing other letter combos and it seemed kinda dope and it just kinda sticked. Dunno if other people write the same names I do but I kinda care zero shits, the world is so huge you can't know every people.

i remember when i got in to graff my tag was sami that i later changed to sanne which is my tag now. when i started to use sanne i didint know who sane was. then later some guys got angry at me for using sanne as my tag. they told me to change my tag because it was too close for sane but i never changed it because i live in Finland and its like away from usa. i dont have any cool backstory to these names, i just wanted to tell this
