So getting random people with no drive to be lawyers and doctors isn’t just going to make it so young people lose their money, but also we gain worse less reliable doctors and lawyers. Going to college is really important, especially if u dont know what to do. You gain a lot knowledge, can think critically, solve problems, and have the capacity to learn faster.

I don't want to pretend to understand what the situation is like for education system in the US since i'm not American but pursuing a college degree shouldn't be demonized as a bad thing. Don't conflate American's college culture with the education itself.

We do need doctors and lawyers but the people who would want to be those professions wouldnt be the type to be indecisive

I went to college/culinary I wanted to do something and I had 3 things I wanted to do. Voice acting mechanic or culinary. It depends on the subject if people want to go to college it's a double-edged sword as well as depends on the subjects they are interested in. As well in many fields you can have a degree in all that but experience outranks a degree. So college can be a waste of time if someone's not interested but college could mean something important to the person or throughout their family's history both my parents never when to college but me and my brother have. ( My brother is getting is masters in robotics) I did culinary and I'm 6 years in my Field loving my choice

I agree with Sneako on this (which never happens) but I think college is only meant for improving social skills. All Greek life people and party people excluded me from everything and wouldn’t invite me to any events to I had no community or friends. Go for a trade or a STEM program

If you're young and don't know what to do with yourself, go in the military and get paid to go to school for free and get a degree in whatever field you want and or do a 20 year hitch and retire young and have a full pension and medical and still be young enough to apply your trade in the private sector for much more money and have a fat second pension because this internet thing isn't going to last forever

Its not that wheter going to college is waste of time or not. College doesnt give you everything, it helps you to open yiur eyes to see things from different perspectives. If you go toncollege just to get skill and get job, you ended up living same life. But if you think out of that box, thers so much you can do.Not all those who don't want to go to college are successful.
