CHECK OUT CARS & BIDS

Old SUVs are suddenly shooting up in value. To find out why, I checked out an old Toyota Land Cruiser and a Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Because people want to remember when life was simple. Buttons, knobs, gauges are good.

Toyota- “Why make 3 buttons?”

Grand Wagoneer- “I’ve got Wood!”

😆👌🏼

I'm so sad I had to sell my college car. It was a 87 grand wagoneer. Green with the wooden panels. It wasn't perfect but gas was almost 5$ a gallon. As a struggling college kid I couldn't afford to drive it 15 miles to class. It was like 10$ every single time I drove it. Wish I would've parked it and left it. This was in 2011.

They are shooting up in value because there is a lot less of them, especially after "cash for clunkers" many were simply destroyed.

I love the old land cruisers. had a 1969 FJ40 for a while. Way underpowered, shifted like crap. terrible brakes. Greatest truck ever.

doug could fall in love with a rock and make a 20 minute video talking about it. and not even a real rock, one of those big pieces of concrete that broke off of something.

The old trucks are fun until you have to put gas.

"It works. Why make three buttons?" I'm gonna be saying that for weeks now. 😂

I had a Landcruiser like this one for a while and loved it. My Brother liked to say, "It's not fast, but it'll climb a tree if you want it too!" Very powerful and very dependable.

Absolutely LOVE my 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser. It's not a car, it's a life companion that I could put my life on the line for when it comes to reliability. And it's incredibly fun to drive.

"They (the designers) weren't trying to evoke anything, they were just trying to make a capable vehicle." And that kids is what we have come to in the last 35 years, style over substance.

These 1980s SUVs are easy to work on. No OBDII government mandated complexity on these tough trucks.

I owned and drove the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Rode great, was nice. HOWEVER it had like a 12 gal gas tank and got about 12 miles to the gallon. I was always on the hunt for a gas station.
