"House of the Rising Sun" is a folk/blues song of mysterious origin. It seems to have popped up all over the world throughout history and over time has become the melody we know and love today. I hope you enjoyed this bass-ier version of it. Thanks for watching!

LYRICS:
"There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one"

"My Mother was a tailor,
Sewed my new blue jeans
Daddy was a gamblin' man,
Way down in New Orleans"

"The one and only thing a gamber ever has
Is a suitcase and a trunk
The one and only time a gambler's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk"

"Mothers tell your children
Not to do what I've done
Spend your life in fear and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun"

Geoff, you had asked during the premiere why people were requesting this specific song for you, particularly since most covers are higher and more "screamy". My two cents is that there's something about you that feels very old-school and classic - maybe in part because there were so many great old singers who were basses or baritones. This means that you're going to keep getting requests for tunes that are more than just music - they're cultural (well, American culture). 16 Tons and this one are perfect examples. Something about you taking classic songs and bringing them back to life for a new generation just feels right!

Geoff should totally do Toss a Coin to your witcher. I can see it working really well with a deep voice.

I'm always in awe with Geoff's singing. High or low range, he is phenomenal! However, every time there are 4 or 5 Geoffs, I find subtle differences that make me forget for a few seconds that there is one singer. His voice is the gift and the "Geoffs " are the pretty bow. Lame analogy? Perhaps. But I said what I said. 👏👏👏👏

I don't understand how it is PHYSICALLY, ANATOMICALLY, BIOLOGICALLY possible for one voice box to produce such a wide, wide, wide range of sound. ??? I just don't get it.

You could just listen to Geoff humming all day. They say a cat's purring aids them in healing; I think they must've learned it from Geoff.

Hey Geoff. You probably won't see this, but as a bass singer you are my main inspiration. I just figured out how to do rough subharmonics and managed to hit an A1. I feel like this is a huge accomplishment at 14 years old and I just wanted to say you inspired me to achieve this
Edit: I'm now nearly 16 and can comfortably hit C2 in chest and F-E1 in sub/fry

I did not expect this. He reimagined it and rewrote it. I usually hate that to be honest especially if I loved the original. This is really a new song in every aspect. Cutting off the past from my expectations this is really good! That voice will get to me every time!

Geoff... your range is utterly insane. Your lowest low is the best high I've ever had.

My favorite part about Geoff is that his version of a song is always unique! Never just a copy of everyone else's. 🥰 Absolutely brilliant. Thank you Geoff for sharing your talent!

It's perfect! Why does Geoff criticize his singing all the time, and he says he's not a real bass. He's too humble. He has such an amazing voice, a wide range, the low notes are bright and rich, and he sounds beautiful on the high notes too. He can do a lot of things. He can sing in different voices, play instruments, make beautiful music videos and make old songs sound even better.
