I'm writing this comment so if anyone ever likes it, I will have to listen to this song. It's a hard life but someone has to do it.

This is exactly my father's voice when he sang. We did a lot of karaoke. He died about 4 years ago. Hearing the vocals start opened me up man. God damn. Miss you old man.

This is BY FAR the best version of this song. Soulful and tragic as it was meant to be.
Thank you Mr. Cash.

On my wife's family her great-grandfather love Johnny Cash and when I found this video and I played it for her great grandmother. She was moved to tears and she was talking all about how he loved this music and it was an incredible moment of clarity because unfortunately, she has a really bad case of Alzheimer's but this music helped her into a state of clarity so thank you from the bottom of our family's heart. Thank you

Wow 😢 Absolutely beautiful. I'm 38 years old. I love Johnny Cash. I'm 38, but mentally and physically I feel 98, but I understand now that when you really follow God, shit gets tough, but makes you a Man and warrior of God.

Never heard a version of this song with such clarity from the vocals to the music underneath, truly amazing rendition of a classic

My father is 85. This is one of his favorite songs, and has been for decades; I sent this link to him a couple days ago, and recommended that he listen to this with headphones on; WOW, HE CANNOT STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW AMAZING THIS IS!!!! 😊 HE like this version better than the original!!!

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Way down in New Orleans

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he feels satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk

Oh, mothers, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the house of the Rising Sun

I've got one foot on the platform
And the other foot on the train
I'm goin' right back, on down to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

My God, I know I'm one

What Cash brings to these songs, like hurt, is a lifetime of blood and wretchedness that rubbed his life raw! THAT is the real blues, regardless of color.

The simplicity of the music and complexity of emotion in the vocals is truly moving!

You made this song even better. Beautiful rendition. Your voice fits to this song so perfectly. Deep, soulful voice with a lot of passion. You made this song your own.
Just wow. Massive respect to you.

Found this on 12/9/2022. As a big Johnny Cash fan I can't approve of this any harder. Thank you. Johnny Cash lives on. You tell me this isn't really Johnny cash singing, but my ears say you're full of it.
