Big fan. View From 3rd Street and Start The Car are perfect! Based on his talent, I Just CANNOT understand why he wasn't bigger. I don't get it. Most underrated artists ever. I wish he would tour sing this music, because I would pay to listen. His lyrics are associative, sound, real, and truly resonant. His music is part of the fabric of my being. Great great stuff. Truly wished I could've seen him sing these songs live. Thanks for sharing this. 👍

Hey Leland, Doug here again. My god, the first time I heard Jude was this song while sitting around a campfire in Penninsula State Park, Door County, WI in 90 or 91. 10 seconds after that song started playing after Casey Kasem introduced this up and coming young fellow, I knew immediately this was someone who was going to really take off. It grabbed me instantly. Now, of course, I have his whole catalog thanks to you when you first introduced him, what, a year or two ago when you started handing out lessons on Great Musicians. When a person's music and talent that can take you somewhere where no one else can is, to me, A GIFT. Your right about the industry about him going just so far and that was that. Right time, right place and all that stuff. Jude Cole is one of the coolest musicians, songwriter, singer, instrumentalist's I've ever heard. I don't grow tired of listening to any of his work. If I were Jude, I'd consider it an Honor that you revisited me. Thanks again Leland for knowing how to pick 'em. Your Great. Doug

I'm a huge Jude Cole fan. Being the guy who always read the liner notes, I was blown away at the talent on his albums, you of course, included. Superb song writing, arranging, all the best in the business. "Start the Car" is one of the few albums I listen to all the way through. You want a bar or festival crowd to get into your band? Begin your set with "Start the Car" and you've grabbed the crowd.

Just stumbled on to this I have been on A Jude Cole kick for about 3 weeks. I wore out A view from 3rd street could never understand why this guy wasn't absolutely huge. Such a great album and so many more good songs from Jude!

Jude is so incredibly talented, I just don't understand why he wasn't a huge hit. Regardless, these songs are timeless and Lee's bass lines are burned in my brain. I remember hearing this song on the radio with that unmistakable Sklar bass and immediately buying the CD.
