i'm more impressed by how you trained the kids to sit to the side on command!

when your dog starts nipping, make a shhh noise and have him look at you, when he stops praise him and say good boy. also have a toy on hand for him to chew instead. remember, he's not being aggressive, he's playing and teething.

I have to say this method is AWESOME!! I just got 2 puppies. And the pulling of the leash with the command of NO work right away. I did reward with treats though and both of my puppies learned on our first try (I’m sure it helps greatly if your dogs are naturally smart) i have a Goldendoodle and a Yorkie. I am sorry for all of you who are still struggling as the puppies bites hurt like hell. Specially big dogs.

"Let's have all you guy's go sit down again, thank you " Applies the same kind of training with his kids .

I have a two year old rescue who nips A LOT. He does it out of excitement and fear, mainly. He's awful with strangers unless he's been caged and had a bit to get used to their presence in the house. As for excitement, I think I'll have to try the spray bottle and pet route first. I'm PRAYING it works. I'm so exhausted by his over excitement.

What about while in the throws of excitement that’s when it mainly happens and when he wants to play? We offer a toy

I have a 2 months old rottie. When i got him, he was unstoppable. Biting and nipping me all around. The thing is you need to teach him what is good and and what is bad. I got him on line by doing this : if your puppy bites your hand or ankle just push him gently and give him a loud NO and redirect him to a toy. I prefer a hard bone. Everytime your pup bites, you do this. NO and give him the toy. Eventually he will stop. You need patience for this stuff. But you will get your result :D

There is an older little dog at my work that is not very sociable and goes after the pant legs of whoever makes noise or moves quickly. I'm a janitor, so, I make quite a bit of noise when I move, and I also have a hand truck, which he doesn't like, either. Last night, when he went after me, I stopped him by gently tapping his side with my mop handle and yelling a short "HEY!" to get his attention. He stopped immediately, and I followed up by making standing firm while facing him with a slight lean and solid eye contact. I held his gaze for several moments, all while calming myself and thinking "I am in control. Biting is unacceptable behavior. We do not do that here." Guess what he did? He gave me distance- a sign of respect that dogs give to their leaders. Furthermore, he left me alone for the rest of my shift.

I have a 2 month old Cane Corso and he bites & nips hands, ankles, arms, even your head-The yelling ouw real loud or saying NO!
Does not work-I did not want to hit him-so I used a little spray bottle of water that mists him whenever he bites.Works like a dream! He bites-I yell NO with a little mist of water in his face & he stops instantly.

I have a five month old pitbull. He’s quite big and has a non stop problem with biting, and jumping, and hates being petted. I’ve tried this, and he’s very stubborn so I haven’t had positive results. I really need tips or advice before he gets to big and bites someone who would take negative actions. 😭

My dog grabs my clothes while I’m wearing them and plays tug with them. Her intention is to bite me but she grabs the clothes. It’s hard cause if I get closer to her to confront her she changes her grip and bites me and if just wait or try to distract her it’s like she has complete control over me. It’s scary and hard to correct but I’m working on it.

I firmly believe every dog can smell a dog trainer a mile off and starts to behave immediately - the strange thing is that my wolfdog doesn't think I'm a dog trainer

I think every dog trains differently, that way works for him but it might not work for other people. I have a 11 week Siberian Husky and saying no doesn’t work, I train with treats and it’s going great for me. I always tell my self animals don’t know English LOL you have to show them the right way and then they will start to get it, never train with pain.
