Van Jones questions if anti-Semitism in the Democratic party ended Josh Shapiro’s VP bid

CNN commentator Van Jones has questioned if anti-Semitism in the Democratic party affected Kamala Harris’ vice president pick.

On Tuesday, Jones discussed Josh Shapiro not being picked as Kamala’s running mate was down to him being Jewish.

Tim Walz was announced as Harris’s VP, with Jones questioning why Shapiro was not chosen despite being seen as the favourite.

The CNN commentator suggested that Shapiro was not chosen due to parts of the Democratic Party not liking his Jewish background.


“You also have anti-Semitism that has gotten marbled into this party. You can be for the Palestinians without being an anti-Jewish bigot, but there are some anti-Jewish bigots out there,” he said.

“And there’s some disquiet now – and there has to be – how much of what just happened is caving into some of these darker parts of the party?”

Well it's not just that, The vetting process showed that if she had picked Shapiro, she would have dealt with other problems such as Shapiro's past settlement money for an aide etc.Several women groups are preparing to come forward also he is in contention with another senator from PA.Thats a Red Flag. She can't risk any candidate with dirt on them when she only has 90sh days left.The cleanest candidate with no scandal or dirt on them was Tim Wals.The other candidates had something that could have been used against them.The vetting process is invasive.Shapiro has had stuff happen during his time before governor that could derail the campaign.Kamala is moving fast because she focuses on unifying the party and everybody's getting in line putting the countries needs before individual popularity contests.

I’m not a Van Jones fan, but he gets my respect here for him considering this statement. I’m so sick and tired of people categorizing groups of people based on religion, race, or even who they intend to vote for. We will never close the divide that way. I’m not a democrat either, but Shapiro’s remarks also gain my respect. Part of choosing a candidate SHOULD BE a consideration of their record, policies, character, and many things. Sometimes you go back and forth before making a sound decision instead of just assigning yourself to one party or the other for life regardless. That ride and die attitude has taken away critical thinking for most in the United States. I’m red, I’m blue, I’m crips, I’m blood, that is our two party system now
