College is a waste of time for people who don’t go for the right reasons

College is for the ones REALLY focused on something specific. S.T.E.M oriented careers, Doctors, Lawyers, etc. It wasn't necessarily for me and I'm glad I jumped right into working during/ after highschool. 3 paid in full vehicles, house paid off in 3yrs, almost no consumer debt, making about 80-85k a yr...AND NO STUDENT LOAN DEBT😊

I went to college to get a degree in Game Production after serving in the military. In fact I was still serving while getting my degree. Going to college doesn't truly make you smart its what you do with that knowledge after you obtain that degree. I used my degree and military experience to be a Sr Systems Engineer in upper management. They wouldn't of hired me without it. Now I'm taking my master's degree in Engineering Management with a certification in Systems Engineering. Because I want to go further in upper management. Knowledge is useless if you don't apply it. I also have a secret clearance that helped as well. And I do make 6 figures (which I'm truly greatful). If you decide to get a degree choose one with a career that's always needed. Careers that will be here until the end of time are Medical (someone will always be sick), technology (it's forever changing), business (there's always businesses coming and going), and security (someone is always in trouble, needs help, or crime is happening). Once again you're smart if you use that degree for your career. Otherwise you're wasting money going to school and not using that knowledge. I'm a Sr Systems Engineer I used my degrees and experience together. That's how it's done.

My man, I also have an enginerring degree and yes it was a waste of time, this was 12 years ago. There just wasn’t enough engineering positions available and most positions want guys with experience.

I ended up working a steady job until I was able to start my own business and now Im making a comfortable salary, not quite millionaire status but good enough for me.

Going to college is mostly for the networking and relationships you make that will help you in the future

Semi-valid point. However not everyone is an entrepreneur good sir. One more thing, who is going tell the Fortune 500 companies that a college degree is not important???

Nah. Most of us not gonna succeed at opening a business most businesses fail and you got a college degree so in case your businesses failed you would have a high paying regular job. If you open a business who will work for you? Who fixes your toilet fixes your car fixed your food pack it up nicely for you at the grocery store if you have a heart attack who’s gone help you? Employees are very valuable cause if everyone was a boss who would do the day to day work? Great advice but just saying regular folks matter too bro.

Sounds nice,

The thing is most high school students aren’t prepared to be in college.

College for the most part teaches you indirectly the power of socialization, time management, indirect history of why things are. That is why they make you take so many units so you are versed or at least have a minimum understand of each subject.

People would be lucky to have 2-3 jobs 😂 now a days.

If your sitting thinking fuck college it is because it can be hard time consuming and it is a commitment.

If you have a family or your family depends on your income even though you are single it’s not easy.

Go to school and get a degree where it matters.

How many people have gone to college and worked full time?

It is also a thing of mentality.

Oh trust me I’ve been there and done it, going to university actually gave me depression despite getting myself an engineering degree and somehow an internship at a top company which I left three months in. It was only after I put my head down on my true passion I felt the most fulfilment and gained knowledge in that field.

I’ve seen it all happen to so many of my graduate cohorts (maybe a small percent are working in what they truly love)

Not gonna lie, I'm not saying FITX doesnt look intelligent or well educated but I didn't pick him to be an engineering major.

Stereotypically engineering grads aren't always exactly the most well kept or looks-maxxed kinda guys like FITX and the rest.

It’s crazy how many successful people have different views on college. A lot think it’s great and others think it’s the waste time. I’m in the middle I think college is good if you get your roi. Some people spend entirely to much time I college for a job that doesn’t pay well or end up not getting a job in their field at all.
