She can't even qualify for grants, etc. because her parents make too much money. Something is wrong with this system.

She needs to go to community college and stay in state

My father was a millionare and I grew up on welfare... Let that sink in. When I got to college he wouldnt give me his income situation so I ended up going to the cheapest school and while working 2 jobs. Moral of the story, some people shoukd not be called "parents".

I feel bad for her. She called in wanting to know the mechanics of how she was going to make this work, and Dave just rejected the question and said she shouldn't, and the parents were parenting badly. This girl is going to get killed by FAFSA and needs some serious help/consulting she is not getting at home. I really wish he had walked her through some solutions besides "don't go to college or make your parents pay"

Should ask her what degree she is pursuing. I wouldn't pay out of state tuition for a humanities degree

I need to hear exactly why they don’t want to do it. Something in this discussion is not being said. I guarantee her parents have a completely different view on things.

My parents make over 1mill before taxes, I was given one choice: community college and if I wanted more education id have to show them how much I wanted it. At the community college, i still had to pay my own bills (gas, car insurance and anything extra I wanted, so i had to work part-time) they paid for school and I lived at home. I had to show them my grades and reasons why i didn't perform up to their standards. (C's and B's for me was tough)

At the time i didn't understand why i couldn't go to fashion school or wasn't given money and have a nice car mommy and daddy paid for, along with the name brands my friends had that parents had made less then 75k a year

now, I am thankful,
I didn't know my true passions in life, learned the true value of education and HOW TO WORK!!!

I am 28 worth 400k, own assets, happily married with a daughter on the way.... I know NOBODY in my community at my age even at this point in their you mom and dad!!

I’m surprised she knows how much her parents make. My family never discussed it.

I don’t trust 17 year olds, I was 17 once and I don’t trust my 17 year old self.

I was blessed to have my parents pay for my college and I’m extremely grateful for that and I want to do the same for my kids

Start at a community college to make sure you're in the right major for you, then transfer to another college for your degree 📜 👍

They bought a second house yet won’t help their daughter pay for college? That’s so messed up.

I don't care what kind of degree my daughter is getting. If she is trying to better herself and follows through with studying and getting her degree, I am paying for her college. NO EXCUSE! We are to help our kids period! You had kids for a reason. So stop being selfish and help your kids better themselves!

I can’t imagine making that much money and not sending my children to college. If you can’t afford to help that’s one thing but I morally feel that’s part of my responsibility

Maybe her parent's have better insight to this situation than the YouTube comment section and Dave Ramsey.

I think it would have been good for Dave to ask if they offered to pay anything, how much per year was the school she was planning to go to, ask what major she was getting into, or did her parents give any reasons why they wouldn’t contribute to her college
