Geoffrey Rush was born to play a pirate

I like the light heartedness of this scene.
The revenge could be used for horrible things. War. Slaves. Pillaging. Killing.
But Barbossa uses the power of the sword to make the lives of his crew easier and goes back to the laughing captain he once was.
This was the perfect end to his story.

His first order is to get drunk and have a good time. Now that's a captain

Oh wow, what a cool and unique thing for Barbossa to get! He finally has his own legendary pirate vessel and now a magic sword that controls it to boot. I'm sure that both of these thing will play large and important roles in the next film!

If Jack and Barbosa could’ve just worked together, they’d have been unstoppable. Between Will and the Dutchman, Jack and The Pearl, AND Barbosa with The Revenge… three practically legendary, supernatural ships.

The Queen Anne's Revenge was probably the biggest missed opportunity in the whole franchise. This was such a cool idea, yet they did nothing with it, and the just forgot about it.

I really like Barbossa as a character. Love his interactions with Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow as well as their rivalry. One moment they get on each other's nerves, the next they work together. And yes, Geoffrey Rush was born to play this role. His performance in the Pirates films is so entertainingly good. Sad that he dies in the fifth Pirates movie. RIP, Hector Barbossa. "Pirate's life." 🏴‍☠️

With the Revenge and Blackbeard’s sword, Barbossa is literally unstoppable. In the 5th movie, he assembled a fleet of 10 ships under his command, eventually becoming the rich rogue he has dreamt for so long. With all the treasures and wealth, his Revenge littered with all the gold as well as his own peg leg plated with gold as well.

I don't understand how he can get overpowered by Salazar in the 5th movie. That sword and ship is freaking OP

Barbossa is more a methodical, ruthless, combative captain, though less daring and heroic than Jack. He is not a coward by any means, but he is not likely to take risks for others and do what is honorable when it does not benefit him. Jack is clever, whereas Barbossa is wise. Jack is like wind, powerful or gentle, unbound, playful and blowing from place to place in search of adventure. Barbossa is like water, sometimes deep and thoughtful, but wild and dangerous when riled.

Jack is witty in speech and skilled at simply moving people into in place where he wants them to. Barbossa also respects The Truth, yet he will play with words and withhold information to mislead others. Honestly, Jack and Barbossa are similar but so different.

The way the crew laughs when Barbossa called them "blooming cockroaches" 😂😂😂

His laugh made the crew realize that he is not Blackbeard. Loyalty is not gained by fear as we see in the movie.

It's funny how some people don't get that the "Revenge" is the ship (Queen Anne's Revenge).
