Uninstalled VLC Media Player, I didn't use it much anyway. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Thanks for the update. Most of my clients only use VLC to play commercially made video discs but this is definitely something to be wary about.

Gilles - Thanks for the heads up! - I have deleted VLC from one desktop, three laptops, and 2 Moto z2 phones in my home, and have installed PotPlayer on each of them.

I took a look at PotPlayer, tried it out, and I have to admit the user-interface has a very clean appearance, and the sound is just as clean. (Maybe I'm just imagining it, but it sounds to my ears that PotPlayer may actually have a more full-range sound than VLC...). I haven't had the time to play any videos yet, but I'm sure I will be just as pleased. I can at this point understand why you use PotPlayer as your main media player...

I'm going to spend tomorrow going over some of its features, as I downloaded the entire 64-bit package. I want to compare it to VLC for video and audio editing features, as well as ripping CDs and DVDs. - - This might just become my new media player of choice also.- I'll keep you posted...

I will keep VLC for now, I only use it for viewing local files, not downloaded ones. I find it handy to view videos I have made for my YouTube channel, to check how they are before I upload them. Good call to put the word out Gilles, kudos brother! 👍👍👍

thanks for the info! Are linux machines subject to infection or just windows and macs? Never heard of DaumPotPlayer. I'll have to give it a try on my windows machines! Cheers!

Hi, does listening to the radio stations on V.LC. still put me at risk? and does the player you are talking about have the radio stations on it to play.
