WEIRD GERMAN HABITS I HAVE PICKED UP

Is it wrong that I am trying to turn the USA into Germany? after all the complaints about wanting to keep them separate, I feel like I am bringing some of my Germany based habits overseas.

Germany, why you gotta influence me so much? I don't mind it though... I have changed a little... JUST A LITTLE -_- and as always GERMANY IS TO BLAME. Also lets take a moment to thank Mike for almost getting us killed in Opa Locka.

Granted some of these habits are not the weirdest BUT it gives you an idea how such small things make a big difference.

In Hamburg there's actually an initiative to make people put their Pfand-Bottles next to the Trashcan instead of throwing them away (so that poor people can collect and redeem them without having to "fish" for them). Just like you use to do. There are stickers on some Trashcans that read "Pfand gehört daneben" (Deposits belong beside it).

8:11 Known in Germany as the "Scheibenwischer-Geste" or "Mattscheibe". Basically it's like calling someone an idiot, so it's considered insulting. People have been taken to court and fined for insulting others like this.

Verspätungen bei der S-Bahn sind ärgerlich. Aber Verspätungen bei einer Fernreise, wenn du 3 mal umsteigen musst … Dann wird jede Fahrt zu einem Abenteuer ;-)

Irgendwann denkt man, man kennt alle Arten von Bahn-Pannen. Und dann ist man erstaunt, wie die Bahn sich immer wieder neue „Überraschungen“ ausdenkt. Die tun wirklich alles um mich zu entertainen ;-)

Aber ich fahre trotzdem gerne mit der Bahn!

(Und manchmal erlebt man auch angenehme Überraschungen: Gestern konnten sie eine 8 Minuten Verspätung soweit aufholen, dass ich meinen Anschlusszug erreicht habe.)
