I have recently just discovered cast iron skillet cooking. I find myself using this method more often than any other. I just have to keep reminding myself to resist the urge to grab the handle when it's sitting on the stovetop. I practice cleaning up my work area messes as soon as possible.

I do love that this review is using cast for most everything. A lot of videos test them with something like cornbread, frying, and then searing steak, but for me the great thing about cast is that it can be used for just about everything. I probably wouldn't sear a stake with my good pan. Another mistake that reviews make is that they don't use it long enough. It takes a fair amount of cooking for a pan to get properly seasoned. I do omelettes regularly and they slide off.

I love my cast iron pan, definitely for meat like steaks and you can put it in the oven. It's just such a pain in the ass to clean it..

based on the comments the art of cooking is done. I use cast iron for absolutely everything, bacon, pancakes, eggs (fried/scrambled), pizza, french fries, grilled cheese, everything absolutely everything gets cooked in the cast iron... daily, all 3 meals. in fact it usually ends up sitting on the stove after dry. its easier to clean than non-stick. get it well seasoned and if you have things stuck on put some water in it, don't let it sit there for hours after you use it ...
