What's being missed is that the SanDisk Pro is available with Thunderbolt and it is killing it there. Best external SSD I ever bought. Should be #1. Personally had bad experience with WD MyBook in the past.

Anything made by WESTERN DIGITAL, is flat off the list. It’s a shame they now own Sandisk and regretfully, G Tecnology Super G Drives.

Sandisk indeed has a lot of problem.. unreliable!!

The Sandisk drives Ive had are terrible, in fact it is one of the worst in my opinion

No Bias but Samsung T5 or T7 are better than those you mention. Not to mention that 2 of my WD MyBook were damaged after a year I bought them that made me so much depressed after losing TB of files. I have to disagree on this men.
