Actually taking Ruthenian ideas is a big nerf you shouldn’t do that, only get the government. Or you can take the PU and integrate manually to not form the commonwealth, but it was buffed so much that it is pointless to not form it because it is so good atm.

i might be mistaken but Rzeczpospolita gives you infantry bonus, so with it and another bonuses stacks, you will be able to have +40 infantry +45 cavalry +20artillery modifiers, that will allow you to evaporate any of the midgame /lategame enemy armies

The real reason why getting the local noble is a good idea is that you don't become an elective monarch, which allows you to disinherit heirs to guarantee more mana long term.

The elective monarchy mechanics of the Commonwealth got me Hungary, Bavaria, Bohemia, Pomerania, and Saxony one game. I crushed the Habsburgs and the Hohenzollerns. Allied France, Naples and Spain. Carved up Germany, dominated Wallachia and Moldova, crushed the Kalmar Union, pushed the Ottomans out of the Balkans and kept the Russians out of the Baltic and Ruthenia, smashed the Dutch and the Swiss and became the preeminent power of mainland Europe.

Poland and commonwealth got buffed. Ruthenian ideas are trash comparatively, and you can form commonwealth with tech 8 now (mission event) and quickly get rid of the bad government type. This is outdated advice imo. If you are a good player maybe conquering lithuania within 40 years might still be an option due to having a better ruler and no reform progress nerf, but don't forget that Kazimierz gets extra pips due to the mission tree, so the difference will be negligable, considering you can also just take the reform progress reform and absolutism will only be relevant once you've changed your government type via the mission tree

The extra troops and security you get from the PU alone makes it better for multiplayer, let alone Muscovy being able to take the land or your noble dying. Also, is it really a better monarch point investment to core all the land and have a good ruler than just integrating? The early game head start is better than the hypothetical Ruthenia tag.
