The other in universe reason given is a lot of Batman's villans focus on mental manipulation or causing mass fear of some sort which superman is vulnerable to. If Superman gets mind controlled then the situation Batman is trying to resolve just went from 10 to 100

Gotham is generally dealing with humans so there's really no need for actual heroes. The was one episode where green lantern caught some robbers Batman was chasing but since they got arrested so quickly Batman didn't get any information from them. Batman uses fear if criminals in Gotham knew they'd get caught in .5 seconds they'd never have a chance to give up information that only Batman can get

Nah the cannon reason is that even tho he likes to work alone the justice league member arent good enough to help him, hal jordan failed many time by ruining investigations, plastic man got over confideny, superman is weak to psychological attacks that are the main threat, green arrow is too weak, wonder women is one of the only ones he once accepted, the flash is aprently too busy( i dont buy that) and martian manhunter is a fucking npc so there was no awnser as to why he dont help

I've always felt the entire DC comic universe would be way better off without superman, anyway. Take the big three, Supes, Bats, and Wonder Woman, and just retire them. Supes and Bats started in the 1930s, so mortals die and Superman has had to re-invent his identity a couple of times and got sick of it. Diana is around but mostly done. The dudes from the 60s are all in their 50s now, so why not just take three or four generations of separation, turn the legends into legends, rock some new guys for a bit?

90 year old Bruce would still be the one guy to take out the entire Justice Legue.
