I suffer from CTE and what people don’t understand is I suffer everyday being myself. I try so hard to understand and love myself but when you’re at war with yourself and you don’t even know why it is hard. So far I have never found a cure and I have learned to accept that I am going to more than likely not make it to 45 but I try to live for the moment. My mental health is so messed up and what sucks the most is there is nothing I can really do about it.

My PCP, with my concussion history and the fact that I played high level competitive hockey as a goalie for almost 40 years, was pretty convinced that I suffer from CTE. The most she could do was treat the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. I still suffer from mood swings. My family suffers from my mood swings too. So that's fun.
