Wow, brilliant. Thank you for introducing me to Dr Barker. Please invite her for further interviews! Fascinating expert and she is very pleasant to listen to and a good communicator!

13:15 modern dating and textual criticism aside — why wouldn’t a pre-Mosaic account of a pre-Mosaic figure omit Moses? If it was really written before Moses, it need not mention him; if it were forged to appear older than it was, omitting Moses would seem par for the course.

Splendid and fascinating. I admire her ability to paint the put together the whole mosaic one tile at a time, yet while always referring to the broader historical and cultural ecosystem, without getting caged in the frame of the individual argument. Please, bring her back soon and often.

Margaret Barker's discussion (48:30 onward) about the blind sheep not seeing (in Isaiah and Enoch) and the restoration of (Enochian) 'sight' (spiritual vision/insight) makes me wonder if Jesus' healing of the blind is not about actual physical eyesight but rather an allegory related to Isaiah's and Enoch's loss and recovery of spiritual vision/insight?

Thanks for doing this. Over time I've convinced myself that _Enoch_ and the Judaeans who were strongly influenced by that book played central role in the foundation of Christianity. That _Enoch_ is left out of Protestant Bibles is a real shame.

To be 100% clear! There is NO Language called ”Ethiopic”. In Ethiopia there are today >80 languages. The language she is referring to is a language nowdays only spoken in ethiopian churches (Lithurgic) called ”Gez”. It is though related to Amharic and Tigrinja. Though when people normally call a language ”Ethiopian” they refer to Amharic, which used to be the Admin language of the government and Lingua Franca, which all ethiopians in the past had to learn in school.
Gez is also the name of the letters used in multiple ethiopian languages instead of Latin letters!

Fabulous! Really important to understand “Christianity” started way before Christ! Pre Christian origins are part of the reason it was so widespread by the turn of the century. The standard historical view of a Rabbi like figure who has a small band of followers suddenly exploding in numbers after the “resurrection” has to go.

Enoch was a giant. It's in his name. Were there "good" giants? 🤔 Jesus would've been considered a nephilim. Think about it.
