Your explanation and demonstration was great! It was helpful to turn the work, find the V and from the top angle, and then you can see the back loop.

Just a suggestion it's quite dark with the purple it would be great if you used a light vokir or different color

Very good explanation! Thank you! I came across this in my current project and didn't know what "back loop" was supposed to mean.
I believe that the front hooks left untouched can also be used to add other elements to the crocheting project. So it is not just for decorative purposes.
