The Problem with Fittuber

This week - we explore the influential universe of Fittuber. As always - the focus is on encouraging more in depth conversations around the tension between science and the desire to glorify the past.

The Problem With Series

On a philosophical note - I can see the irony in the fact that the thumbnail and title sound far more aggressive than the actual tone of the videos, and just to be clear - that is simply to get people interested enough to click on them. That is unfortunately the world we live in :)

Tbh fit tuber helped me to heal my irregular periods, helped me fix my eating habits and helped me with overall health. I am simply here to show my support and gratitude for his selfless service. Hurts to see ayurveda and people guiding others way back to healing instead of cure being discredited😢

on the sour curd point....fit tuber is right and he is right too
each person is different, sour curd gives me heart burn, my sister on the other hand can eat sour curd awithout any problem. so pitta theory works here as my body is pitta type and hers is not.
he is opposing fit tuber but he himself is going to other extreme.
fit tuber has changed people to follow better lifestyle and never he tries to degrade anyone.
one on other hand ashok is not just giving his opinion but trying to prove fit tuber wrong.
people in general should listen to everyone but dont blindly follow ANYONE

See, who ever you are I don't know, but I'm MBBS doctor, & till I'm saying that ayurveda is not a myth 🤦 we should use ayurved & allopathy in synergistic manner

This vata pitta theory and the food suggested accordingly helped me to cure my psoriasis problem which the modern medicine failed to do. If they can't prove it you can't disapprove it.

“Glorify free maternal labour” - you literally earned all mothers heart with this! Yes its an unconscious bias that’s harmful for bringing up self sufficient aware individuals

Oiling the naval does help actually. Specially in dry winters. How do you explain that?
Moreover, Vatt, pitt and Kapha body types cannot be explained in terms of modern science (at the moment) but the concept does translates practically.
The idea must be to keep an open mind about the areas not fully explored by modern science as long as the resulting action does no active harm.
Your point about iodized salt was correct btw. One can't simply replace white iodized salt with rock salt.
Both, people who advocate and oppose ayurveda forget that it goes hand in hand with one's lifestyle.
Modern lifestyle is way different from vedic times.
One has to be wise enough to make that judgement what better suits him as per his lifestyle.
The concept of modern nutrition is not a prescription that would work similarly for everyone.
But most people take it that way regardless of their occupation, body type, genetic history, upbringing etc.

Don't try to debunk some honest effort to make good food choices as suggested by fit tuber... I like the fact how he uses both traditional and scientific approaches to correct our lifestyle...
But the modern science in place of letting the people live life in harmony with nature.. modern science tells you eat whatever shit and very scientifically packaged chemical food..then when you fall ill again take full dose of chemicals as suggested by our genius doctors to have more problems in long run...
Today's India is suffering from lifestyle related diseases which modern developed science more aggravated only. so leave the modern science to treat chronic disease only... People should go deep dive in correction of life style diseases with the help of ayurvedic wisdom.

My mom and all her siblings suffer from thyroid issues. In my research, I found that they used to use rock salt and raw sea salt instead of iodized salt.

Kirish - If you are saying Ayurvedic knowledge or Aurvedic practices are not experimentally tested through clinical trials and hence should not be adopted or followed then I would say you are trying to measure efficacy of those practices through Western yardsticks which is not correct. Why don't you just try to those methods or practices on yourself for a certain duration, maybe 30 to 45 days and see if they are effective or not yourself. I also understand if it's working for you then it not necessarily mean it may work for others but your self doubt about those practices will be cleared right ? Also your point regarding iodized salt - fittuber just said there are better natural alternatives such as rock salt ehich is preservatives free for refined iodized salt and ae should not consume iodized salt jist for source of idione as we can get it through plant based sources as well if you consume them in enough proportion. Plants and vegetables are expensive that argument also not correct as ler my view because most of grneral public lives in rural areas where you get those vegetables easily through farms and its very less population living in cities may have to spend extra money to buy it

2:51 You are comparing 1947 to current age to conclude that Mordern medicine is better than Ayurveda.
This comparison is wrong - life expectancy in 1947 was low mainly due to the artificial famines that were created during the colonial times.
To compare Mordern Medicine and Ayurveda properly, you need to set up an environment which has all the other parameters constant which is the correct method of comparing 2 things.

While Mordern Medicine is important in its own right, Ayurveda is in no way obsolete.
Remember, surgey has its origin in India, Sushruta is known as the father of surgery!

I would like to end this by pointing out that to compare X and Y properly, you need to have the knowledge of both X and Y.
Having knowledge of just X or Y may not be sufficient.

Ashok seems to be a person who thinks only, Linear, reductionist, repetetive and lab based things are science.. In reality this can be a one dimension of science and there are other dimensions of the wholistic science. It is like viewing the house through a key hole and claiming that only he has the complete view of the house. For eg the cut section of a Frog on a lab table cannot give full picture of whole living frog.

Ayurveda and Modern Medicine has its own pros and cons. Its totally depending on the Individual how his body react to the treatment.Even modern science doesnt know 100% about human body, Nobody can judge, its only individual experience

Pitta is not exactly hot as in heat. It actually is what we describe in modern times as difficult to digest and in turn makes our body put an extra effort in processing it in layman's words. Excessive sour curd as you said might have other harmful bacteria which is why it is best avoided for consumtion. We can't put it through a lab process at our homes to find out if the curd bacteria are all good or bad when it turns extra sour and hence it is best avoided. Same goes for milk
