Great Video, you just opened my eyes to a lot. Really needed this as I'm hunting a new monitor for a triple setup.

what if I'm just buying a monitor to use with my xbox? i'd prefer higher resolution for casual gaming but wasn't sure if that makes a difference since I'm not using the monitor for anything more than that - and using HDMI to DisplayPort from xbox to my new monitor

great video - thanks for info regardless!

The monitor market is so bad. There are no single 4K 27” OLED gaming panels. Only 4K version is the 32 240hz OLED panels that coming out in Q1”, which is way too big for normal size desk. PPI is still higher compared to 1440p OLED monitors.

I'm currently using dual 24 inch 1080p 75hz monitors which still function perfectly fine. I don't play competitive games, and 75 fps seems perfectly smooth to me. I hear many people claim that 144hz+ is "much better". I'm wondering if I should opt for another 1080p monitor as there's some 165hz panels that are at good prices, or if I should go for 1440p although they cost almost twice the price. I'm using a 3060 so even if I get a 1440p monitor, my fps might not reach the monitor's refresh rate or if I'd nee a much faster graphics card

I sold my Samsung curve 32" screen to buy two smaller ones. I want to buy dell 27" 1440P with 120 hz. Do you have other recommendations?

I just got my 6800xt today, but I game with 2 1080p panels both at 165hz and both 27in. And couldn't be happier. But my end goal is 2k for sure.

I surprised my husband with a new gaming pc. 4090 card Intel 13900k.

He needed a monitor upgrade. Kinda clueless as what to get. This video did help a bit. But still confused.

As for the games he plays. It's mainly league of legends, age of empires 4. That's all his old pc could really handle. But he wants to explore more games. But wants to be budget friendly for a monitor. He wants two monitors. The first one now will do for a bit. His research was kind opposite of yours but aligned when you said a compromise. Go with a higher resolution and modest hertz. He saw the LG ultra gear 27" $249 at best buy. 144hz and high resolution.

He got it but the monitor isn't working correctly. He keeps getting an issue that says an incorrect display port version will cause the screen to go blank. We have tried everything. We have gotten it to work but it's like turn the pc on swap the display port cable a few times turn the pc then on and it usually works.

We will be returning it tomorrow never the less. But any advice on another monitor would be great.

$800 and below. $250-$500 would be ideal.

He wants to explore more games some fps some rpg some rts etc. Just confusing for such powerful rig what is the best monitor at the moment. He plans on doing the duel monitor later on.

I cant decide. I have 13600kf and 4060ti and old 60hz slow ips. In shooters i cant see enemies well. I tested 2x sampling and have some drop of fps on min settings on 1440p
Is it worth it to go for 144hz 2k ips?
