Sexual Diversity and the Human Family: A Bowen Theory Perspective
April 25-26, 2025 | Washington, DC or Online

About the Conference: This two-day conference will focus on sexual diversity as a variation in natural systems, including the human family. The topic will be viewed through the lens of Bowen theory, evolution, biology, genetics, hormonal processes, and the environment.

The Spring Conference is an annual conference that focuses on a single concept related to Bowen theory. Guest scientists, researchers, and leaders in the study of family systems offer presentations related to the topic during this two-day conference. There is ample time for questions and discussion with the audience.

The Bowen Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of Bowen family systems theory into a science of human behavior; to assist individuals, families, communities, and organizations in addressing major life changes through understanding and improvising human relationships.

The Center carries out its mission locally, nationally, and internationally through training and online programs, conferences, research, clinical services, and its website and publications. The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family is an educational, research, and clinical center incorporated as a 501©(3) tax-exempt organization in the District of Columbia.

Hi. Would you please consider making your Bowen Center Website more accessible to people with vision challenges? I have astigmatism, mild cataracts and am aging. Your font is too light and it's on a sepia background which makes it nearly impossible to read for any length of time. I need contrast and for whatever reason, you page/my browser does not appear to have an option to adjust this. Dark mode works best for me (black page with white writing) but since your site is light colored, would you at least consider changing the page background to white and using a heavier font or black text, as opposed to light grey? I'm a doctoral researcher who is trying to make the case for using Bowen's Family Systems Theory in my dissertation but struggling to find appropriate articles. I was hoping your website would fill in the missing gaps, but I'm struggling to read the text.
