Why Wyoming was our favorite state on the CDT!

I was born and raised all over Wyoming. Its a magnificent state. Whats funny is that I have traveled all over the U.S. and the world. Its amazing that almost everywhere I have been somebody from Wyoming pops up and says Howdy.

Wyomingite here. I wouldnt live anywhere else on the planet. I do camping trips to the great divide basin constantly in the summer. Such a cool place. This year has been crazy, never seen so many of the ancient lake beds with so much water in them. And the desert flowers are everywhere, like fields of them sometimes!

Wyoming reminds me a lot of hiking through WA as well (minus ocean). You can enter through the Selkirks, descend into the plains of eastern wa, transition to the desert and gorge of central wa, then hike up the cascade range, enjoy some hot springs, descend down into the sound to enjoy the islands, go back up into the Olympics, and finally down to the ocean. What a change in scenery!
