"You'll still be the only thing I ever needed you to be, My son."
This line alone sold me on Leto and his relationship with his son.

In Dune 2: "Father... I found my way" was beautiful!

''Your father was a weak man '' quote made me come back here. He was anything but weak.

"I wanted to be a pilot."
Well, he'd have been one hell of a pilot!!!!

I like how Oscar Isaac changed the line from "My father..." to "Your grandfather...".

Its very suble but it keeps Paul at the heart of the conversation.

the fact that the line was “what if i’m not?” and timothée put in the word “dad” just makes this scene even better

Another great line: "A great man doesn't seek to lead. He's called to it and he answers."

I really love Óscar Isaac as leto. You can see he is a noble leader but also a lovely father

My dad sends me this clip every time I go through a bout with depression and say I feel like a disappointment. It really does help.

Barely 5 minutes and it builds this relationship better than some full length films. This is very careful, thoughtful writing and its beautiful.

the difference between "somehow palpatine has returned" and this shows how important good writing really is

I love love love that beat that Leto puts in after 'if your answer is no'- the look on Pauls face is one of slight apprehension, as if his father is about to tell him that if he doesn't become a leader than something bad will happen. But then its a statement of unconditional love and support, and you can see such a subtle change in Pauls face to one of surprise...

A modern movie that actually portrays a great father-son relationship.

Paul’s look of relief when he realizes Leto is truly a great father- it’s so universal, and so beautiful. This movie is far beyond film. I hope to show this to my own son one day.

It seems like Timothee Chalamet always gets the best fathers in his films. Other examples of this are Call me by your name and Beautiful boy.

The music, the way both Timothée and Oscar present the scene, literally everything is perfect about this scene. It teared me up and gave me goosebumps at the same time.

Too often we're presented with a black and white, generations at odds with each other. It was both refreshing and touching to see a healthy and understanding interaction.

Just gotta say. Amazing acting from Timothée and Óscar here and incredible directing from Denis. Hans Zimmer's music is just so majestic during this conversation. It's like poetry.
