Fun fact: the guy who says "attention!" at 0:14 is the Atriedes that Feyd fights in the arena in Part 2. He's also the fight coordinator for both films, and he's awesome. Roger Yuan

At this moment, it’s painful clear to all that the Emperor sided with the Harkonnens against the House Atreides. No monarch would allow a critical resource for their civilization to be sabotaged like that unless they stood to benefit from it.

I actually appreciate the little pat on the back Leto gives Paul as he sits down. he knows this is probably kinda intimidating for Paul and he is quietly giving him his support, and the seat ride by his side.

I didn't notice at first the look of shame on Thufir's face. I feel bad for him.

This is around the point in the movie where I got really invested in this. I wanted to see them repair things, get the spice flowing, update their equipment and see how House Atreides does things.

I just realized after watching Dune Part Two that the man standing by Leto' side and saying "Attention" is Lieutenant Lanville, and it is the same man that is fighting Feyd-Rautha in the arena in the second movie

I love the suits. I love the office. I’d love to run a company like this. It would be the weirdest company anyone would ever see, but I’d love coming to work.

20 silos a crate, 20 crates... 400 silos of spice every 25 days. Remember how in the old games sometimes the objective was to reach a certain number in credits? I wonder how much 400 silos worth of spice would add up in game.

I understand why we couldn't spend too much time in this part of the story, but I love seeing the atreides system in action.

Imagine how much further humanity could have gotten if they didn't sabotage the best of them

Not that the Atreides folks needed spice or its profits anyway, they're rich enough to build a force as formidable as the universe's finest and hire the most talented men the Imperium has to offer. At the end of the day, it was the Harkonnens who actually ironically suffered more as they had wasted 60 years worth of profits that Vlad had to short his spice stock to sell more expensive, only served to further weaken his position more when the Fremen later counterattack within 5 years. Both Harkonnens and Corrinos wound up kicking their own balls.

Something i only now realized rewatching the scene - all the chairs are antigrav. Seems like that technoogy is so easy to fabricate that it took precedence if simple chair legs with rollers. Neat.

Love that Gurney says "gotta keep an eye on you" (that is not in the book) and then later, he is the only one noticing that Paul is out there in the spice field

People overlook it, but there's a little joke when Thufir raises his eyebrows a bit and notes about Dr. Kynes, "Eccentric, from what I'm told.". Says the mentat spymaster walking around with a practical, but tad too cutesy parasol... :-))

"Your first strategy meeting. Paul Atreides, who catches hunter-seeker in his bare hands like a hero of old."
Then a look across the table, some officers laugh and clap. Others don't find it funny, stern serious looks like Thufir who realizes the gravity of the security breach that just happened, and doesn't appreciate the joke.

That meeting went quick, in the book it was much longer

A) Was Paul talking about his humiliation or Thufir's?
B) Did Thufir walk everyone outside to answer a question?

There's absurdly low amounts of security around those silos, considering the wealth inside.
