Oh well, I absolutely do not have any desire to live in any of those places, and with all the towns and cities in the US I believe there are places out there that beat all those places hands down.

The thought of living in any of these places makes me feel queasy. Lived in Erie, Pa before BUT violent crime and poverty are worsening there. Decent lower income housing isn't easy to find. If you want to live in high-rise-project apts or in hood areas, you can barely afford to survive in Erie on ss. Winters are brutal!

You should do an update to this video as rents have skyrocketed in the last few months. Seriously

The government needs to rehaul SS and Medicare.
SS should be a minimum of $2K a month.
Medicare should be covered at 100%.

You are CORRECT about the RGV citrus! I’m back in Harlingen after 40 years. Born here and now live on SS and less expensive rent than any of the ones you mentioned!

I live in North Dakota. Love the winter here! Crime rate is low, especially in the winter.

Best place to live is near your children and grandchildren. Adjust your budget accordingly. You cannot get these years and memories back once they’re gone.

Mr. Carroll, I like the information you give about SS. I have to kinda of disagree with a vast majority of this list. I am a ex-truck driver. I have been to most of those cities. I have been out of trucking for 25 years so my experiences are ancient. ;) Not the best memories of those cities. Hopefully times have changed for the better. I live in SE Oklahoma. Very rural. My wife and I manage to live off my disability. Not the greatest but we are surviving. My wife is 60 and I am 61. Thank you for the content you make for us.

Thank you Devin for this information, that will be helpful to many. I am a native Texan. Speaking Spanish in Texas is a plus, especially in Brownsville, Mc Allen and El Paso. Great places to live I sure.

Dayton Ohio is a cesspool with Toledo not being too far behind! Akron is better depending upon where you live but the suburbs can be pricey.

Indiana is a very expensive state to live in. State & county taxes are very high as well as sales tax. Property taxes doubled in 3 years while I was there.

I agree that Mississippi is an affordable place to live on Social Security only, but NOT in Jackson!!! Whoever made that list hasn’t spent time there or done very good research. The kinds of places affordable there for that money would be high crime areas. There would be better choices found in many smaller towns away from the metro Jackson area!

Devin, maybe in a future video you could cover living costs in other countries, since there's a few people who are contemplating living n retiring in another country.
