Something important to note- when you're on isle of giants for the eggs. After you get 1, you can't carry anymore. You'll need to wait it to hatch and then you can go again.

The Reins of Poseidus was changed along with a few other mounts, like TLPD, to grant the mount for everyone in the group. They also nerfed Poseidus' spawn timer to be MUCH shorter at the same time they made the group change. :)

Also if you make a paladin on every race that can be a paladin (horde and alliance), and hearth out of the starting zone, you instantly unlock the racial paladin mount for all paladins in the same faction at a high enough level to use the. Same with the warlock mounts on a warlock trial (no racial mounts so only need 1 warlock trial). Also if you want to instantly unlock the allied race mounts trials will unlock you those mounts if you don't feel like going through the starter quest lines for each of them;

You asked about BFA. You can get Nazjatar Blood Serpent really fast, by just buying the 20 needed Abyssal shards on the AH. Also Frightened Kodo you can get Superfast. 30 min at most, 45 if you are super unlucky and only about 5-10 min of actual game time.

Thanks for this great guide. I was able to get all the mounts except Shimmermist Runner. I farmed the mobs for almost an hour and got nothing. Also, I'm not sure if they changed the requirements for ICC raider.  At least four of the achievements require Heroic.

For the cheap Argent Tournament mounts: If you run the dungeon on Heroic you get 3 seals, but if you run it on Normal you will still get one seal from the last boss. So run it 3 times and buy a mount. Switch to an alt and repeat until done. To save time during the first jousting encounter, dismount and equip weapons as needed right after you start it. Then kill the "heroes" using AOE's rather that wasting your time with the mechanics.
