For the texture method, I did similar thing in UE before, but the texture itself was done in Adobe Illustrator when I was working in a company. The Blender method is absolutely brilliant and more accessible to people who can't afford Adobe's subscription fee.

I was trying to recreate such progress bar as in Battlefield1, when you're capturing the objective. It cool to know more ways to implement this. Thank you for sharing.

Just remember DDX / DDY doesn't work on (Android?) Mobile devices.
