You are awesome man! I've been struggling for 2 hours trying to figure out why the push button passes current even when I haven't pressed it! Now I get how it needs to be wired..
Was thinking it wasn't a real switch and needed to be programmed in order to work...

It worked but it's one time because you connect 5V to gnd using the resistor, so connect the resistor or your arduino will EXPLODE! 💥

Thanks, like the way that you really zoom into the circuit wiring. Of course this will take a bit of hands on to really understand what pull down resistor mean.( With an added driving load i.e. motor to the circuit) :)

Is it safe to run the LED without resistor? It would get 5 Volts then, but it should only get maybe 2-3...
