Dehydrated apples are a staple at our house. We dry then when available, then use them all winter and spring. Dehydrated takes up less room than canned, and takes less prep time.

I believe that this is the way my mother used to make them, but she would refrigerate them overnight, and use them to make Apple Turnovers. I really appreciate, and enjoyed the video. You have a subscriber here.

This is great. My daughter loves the spiced apples but I never make them or dehydrate apples in general. Now I need to do some dehydrating. Thanks for the great idea and for the recipe.

Looks delicious, I stopped on your page because your apples looked more like my mom's before and after they were cooked. A question please, decades ago my mom would buy dried sliced apples but I don't recall them being like the dehydrated chips we see today, wondering what is the difference if any? The apples would come in a plastic bag, as I recall they were dried but a little plumped, not like chips. I have a dehydrator setting on my new stove and am interested in apple turnovers and pies, not snacking so much, also I plan to vacuum seal and freeze them. I will be using an apple peeler/slicer/corer, so the slices will be thin, although I can just peel and core, slicing them separately. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
