Показать описание
Ingredients:
•2 Pounds HoneyCrisp Apples, or apples of choice
•⅓ Cup Light Brown Sugar, or to taste
•⅓ Cup White Sugar, or to taste
•1 Teaspoon Cinnamon, or to taste
•Pinch of Ground Nutmeg
•Pinch of Ground All-Spice
•1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
•¼ Cup Unsalted Butter, ½ Stick
(Cornstarch Slurry)
•4 Teaspoons Cornstarch
•4 Teaspoons Water
Recommended Equipment
•Large Bowl
•12-inch Skillet
•Silicone Spatula
Note:
The amount of sugar you use will depend on your personal taste preference and your choice of apples.
Instructions:
1. Clean, peel, and slice apples into desired shapes. Then, add the apples to a bowl and toss the apples in fresh squeezed lemon juice.
2. In a large skillet on medium heat, add in butter. Once the butter is melted, add in apples.
3. Next, add in brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, all-spice and nutmeg, then mix in with apples.
4. Bring to a simmer. Once at a simmer, slightly reduce heat to low-medium, periodically stir, and let simmer on low for about 15-20 minutes or until the apples softened and reached desired tenderness. The sauce in the skillet should begin to reduce and start to have a syrup-like consistency.
5. Combine cornstarch and cold water (cornstarch slurry) in a cup, then add into the skillet. Continuously stir until well combined and the mixture thickens.
6. Remove skillet from heat and serve. Enjoy!
