Have you tried it?

Well let me explain the float back technique is often used in EMDR to help a person identify the root cause of their distress or trauma. In simple terms, it’s like tracing back the feelings or memories that are troubling you to find out when they first started.

Here’s how it works:

1. Focus on the Present: Think about a current situation or feeling that’s upsetting.

2. “Float Back” in Time: Allow your mind to drift back to earlier times when you felt something similar, without forcing it. It’s like letting your mind naturally find the connections.

3. Discover the Source: Often, this process helps uncover an earlier memory or event that might be the source of the current distress. This could be something from childhood or any other past experience.

This is just for psycho educational purposes please don’t try this without an appropriately qualified person 🙂
