I purchased a V1Gen2 and mailed to a mid point of my 5000 mile trip about a month ago after I got a speeding citation of 94mph at 80 mph zone. I thought I was going at 87 mph.
I have set up with a JBV1 with the posted speeds+ to A and below that to L. This set up has been easy to live without unwanted alerts.

I ran 1.47 all over ca, nv and az and loved it. I never had a problem. I ran Mithheru's 1.47bugfix for a few days without any issues. HW 1.1.1 Just loaded up 150 international today. Looking forward to seeing how it performs. Keep the great videos coming.

My biggest problem with radar detectors is the OLED displays, I’ve got an R3 and after one year it was totally useless as far as the display was concerned. Yes I can still use it off of the alerts alone, but you cannot read a single thing unless it’s pitch black dark off the display.

Uniden r8 updated 1.28 has rapid boot up, you can now set up speed camera range before you approach them 1000 up to 3000 ft. Make sure Mark recovery mode when updating your r8 or r4

Hey Vortex, great video!! I always come back to your videos when I need help. My car got broken into and my V1G2 got stolen, I’m trying to replace it but weighing my options.

I liked the detector itself, but I don’t like the app abilities it offered. I have CarPlay but the escort integration seems like a hassle. The R7/8 might be my choice. Any reason for or against that?

I value the GPS mute and didn’t like I had to get V1Driver to get it on the Valentine, but I liked the directional arrows to tell me where a bogey is. Too many options to weigh…

I hope Escort will bring that Function Auto Volume sensing feature back like we had on 9500ix, I like some times quite and forget to volume up my detector when I listen loud music.

I bought a v1g2 off ur videos and enjoy it greatly. Also added an r8 in the mix and has been very good as well. I've had escort 8500, 9500, and max 360. The WORST detectors I've ever used. Piles of tickets. The only place u get escorted to is the courtroom!

Aaah, so the Apple Car Play is what will allow me to have the detector on my Pioneer AVIC-8600NEX.
