Flagstaff Police have released video from a deadly police shooting. This video is disturbing and may not be suitable for all audiences. It shows the final moments before the officer is shot and killed.

I am a firm believer that no officer should patrol by themselves. Domestic calls can turn so quickly. The officer was so polite and just wanting to help and resolve the situation talked calmly very professional. This should have never never happened. My condolences to his family and god rest his soul!

I am a retired NYPD Detective and this incident where the cop was killed reaffirms my belief that there should always be 2 cops working together as partners. Had this been he might still be alive. I am a retired police officer in Rio de Janeiro / Brazil, an extremely violent city. I would never talk to a suspect who had his hands in his pockets without first frisking that suspect. We never know what the person's real intention is. At least there in this great nation there is life imprisonment and the death penalty. My condolences to the police officer's family and companions

The saddest part is this officer seemed like a really nice guy. He was calm and friendly the whole time and didnt cut off or lecture the suspect. We lost a really good one. May you rest in heaven officer Tyler Stewart.

As an officer myself, never go into a domestic violence call alone. People are already on edge when you arrive, there is no one on your side, and you are exposed to one of the easiest ambushes.
All in the environment you are not familiar to, but very familiar to possible attackers.

This is exactly why cops are so aggressive most of the time, they see hundreds of these videos. The officer was polite, nice, respectful, and died.

One of the first things taught in the academy is officer safety. From day one it's pounded into your knowledge. Three of the rules of safety are, "always keep a suspects hands in sight", "don't pat down a suspect when you are alone" if possible, and "time is on your side". No matter what your fellow officers practice, always adhere to officer safety.

Did anyone else's heart start pounding with every car that was driving by wondering if it was going to be a drive by shooting or something being that he was in the car talking on the phone for a while? Not knowing how it was going to happen but waiting for the inevitable gave me anxiety!! This officer seemed like one of the good ones and was nice and respectful just trying to do his job.
