We as citizens need to see every cop's complete record of employment.

There is a law in Texas that a town's budget cannot be paid for by traffic fines/tickets violations collected beyond a certain percentage, that town has 250 people but yet traffic fines collected in less than a year exceed over $1 Million Dollars.

Jesse, I was in Texas Law enforcement for 14 months working in a county jail. And I swear. There is no difference between the guys behind the bars and the guys behind the desks and badges. It was horrifying. I was diagnosed with p t s d. Not from the inmates but from the officers. My homestate is The Brutality State

As a recovering municipal politician, I am surprised that a budget would go through with an increase in taxes to pay for all these full time employees. Why aren't the ratepayers storming the council chambers?

How corrupt do they need to be? WTF?!!!

Just remember the 375 "cowards with badges" in Uvalde, Tx last year. 21 people dead and our idiot gov Abbott just gave the head of the DPS a $45, 000. pay raise.

I caught this story yesterday. I grew up in another small town 30 miles from there. Nothing that happens in rural Texas surprises me. My parents moved us to the East Texas rural area in 1960s. The good ole' boy system runs throughout these rural communities.

Definitely a sundown town glad they're being named for travelers

Apparently the police also issued fines and citations for over a million dollars...with 250 people in the town, that means committing offences must be a full time job for the citizens.

That reporter might be on the receiving end of a police raid like they did in Kansas.

What's sad is how many "Coffee City" towns are all across the US, getting away with stuff like this. Right now the city in which I live has a PD problem that hit Ntl news. I'm in a bigger city (with a City Council that should also be under investigation) and this has left our PD remarkably short staffed and nobody wants to work here. Crime is at an all time high and we have fewer than 60 cops for a city of over 100, 000 people. The FBI got called in to this one so somebody is paying attention. Perhaps those CC warrant officers that are out of a job would like to apply.

How many warrants could there be in a town of 250 people.
