Your 'tricks' are novel length compared to what actually is needed to say, such as wanting to exit out of whatever video or program, just say "Alexa Home"
Another QUICK command is "Alexa, play YouTube Lady Gaga videos/music"
... Bottom line, just get to the point and tell Alexa briefly what you want, no novel length command!

Simply say - Alexa go home. Alexa, change your wake word to [Echo, Computer or Amazon].
Note you have to choose a default browser before it will open Youtube. Just say afterwards Alexa open Youtube
