MIB2 Firmware Update Tutorial (Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat) 2023/2024

Steps to update the firmware to the latest version:
1. Enter the Developer Settings menu and check your current SW train
3. Use at least 8GB SD card or preferably USB (FAT32 file system format with the smallest allocation size available)
4. Copy firmware update files to the root directory of the USB/SD card.
5. Press and hold the MENU button for 3 seconds, select "Software update/versions", "Update", "USB or SD card", select firmware, press "Start" and "Next".
6. Wait patiently. The central unit will reboot multiple times before the new firmware is installed.
7. When the installation is complete you can press the arrow in the upper-right corner, "Cancel". The unit will reboot one final time.
8. Press and hold the MENU button to confirm that the unit is running the new firmware version.

MIB2 units are made by 3 different vendors - Harman, Delphi, Technisat/Preg. Each vendor develops its own firmware version and releases its own updates.

Depending on tier and functionality, car brands use different names for similar units. You can find VW Discover Pro, VW Discover Media, VW Composition Media, Skoda Bolero, Skoda Amundsen, Skoda Columbus, Seat Navi, Seat Navi Pro and Audi MMI.

MIB units have different generations - MIB1, MIB2, and MIB3. Also different tiers - Entry, Standard, High, Premium, separate releases for different platforms - ZR and PQ; and separate regions - EU, NAR, JP, KOR, RoW.

Hello I have a Tiguan R line 2018 from Canada and now I imported it in Europe. I have MST2_US_VW_P0867D installed on the unit. What should I do to be able to update my firmware and use european map ? Should I download the MST2_EU_VW_P0867D or another version and would this let me download an european Map . I tryied to install the MST2_EU_VW_P0891D_MU0891 and I receive an error :Variant Conflict Medium : 17268/17263/17262 (Main Unit: 17269) Thank you

I wish the file transfer had been shown. I transfered the extract to the root file of my FAT-32 formatted SD card, yet my car doesn't see it. I tried with a USB stick as well, to no avail.
