'Extremely Disturbing' Greene Recounts Visit WIth Jan. 6 Rioters At D.C. Jail

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Tuesday that her office is preparing a report of the findings from a recent trip to the D.C. Department of Corrections, when the Georgia lawmaker visit accused Jan. 6 rioters.

And what crime did they commit to receive this kind of treatment? Trespassing?! They are political prisoners like in China or Russia. In America?!

Are you aware that the only person murdered on January 6th was a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbitt, who served this country in the Gulf War? Or that she was the only person killed by gunfire that day? Or that she was unarmed? Lt. Michael Leroy Byrd fired the ONLY shot at the Capitol on January 6. Are you aware that most of the hundreds of January 6 protesters who have been formally indicted are charged with trespassing, vandalism or similar MINOR offenses. Convictions for these offenses seldom draw jail terms. These people deserve to be out on bail while awaiting trial.

I worked in a prison for 30 days and left because of the general management. They are probably being treated worse than usual as they are political prisoners. However, she is describing prison life in general. Prison for profit is a human rights violation.

She pointed most of the things that went wrong in that place and other Jails/Prisons for Decades. I think MTG should honestly work with her other Colleagues to pass legislation for Prison Reform. I've visited somebody at the DC Jail before and I've never seen such Hostility by the Guards and how Filthy it is. That Jail should be Condemned.
