The Appalachian Mountains are my back yard here in PA. I hike and backpack the trails quite often. I will never go without my dog and at least on other person(mostly my brother). Every time you are alone you always have the erie feeling something is watching you.

I can attest to there being unexplained sightings in the Central Pa area. I've hiked all over this area and there are places that I will never go again, alone.

I've been waiting for you to do stories about Pennsylvania!! I live in Pennsylvania fairly close to the Susquehanna River! The deep woods here are for sure spooky, I've lived deep in the woods here in PA my whole life, safe to say I never go outside at night, or alone.

"Avoid Pennsylvania" also happens to be our state motto!

I live in south central PA and I have hunted, fished, trapped, and hiked all over the state. I have seen some unexplainable things, heard unexplainable noises as well. If you stop and ask anyone about Sasquatch, if they didn't have any experience or encounter with one, I can guarantee you that someone they know has. There are so many Cryptid sightings that go undocumented, it's crazy. People who don't live in PA don't realize how vast parts of the state actually is.

I have only encountered a Black Bear once in the wilderness. Hiking along a ridge with a friend who was older and knew this area well. I heard this enormous crashing and breaking of brush. Startled I said, what is that?! My friend said, black bear, he heard us before we heard him and there he is running up the other side of the ravine as fast as he can. That night after pitching our tent I was falling asleep when there was a commotion right outside the tent. Snorting, heavy breaths, stomping of feet-I said now what is that right outside the tent?! My friend didn't even open his eyes, he just said, Mules. Turns out there was a pack of mules that lived back there and they came to check us out.

I love rural Pennsylvania. It has so much forests and farmland. It is one of my favorite states. Luckily, I have never experienced anything out of the ordinary while camping there.

Back in late spring, mid 1980s, I was riding my calm and sensible horse in the late morning up an old strip mine road that led to a pretty deer trail that went back a mile or so through the forest. This was in SW Pennsylvania in an area called the Laurel Highlands. I had rode horses back this trail with my daughter but never alone. It was a gorgeous day. Blue sky, white fluffy clouds and around 70 degrees. To the left of this trail over about 100 feet was an overgrown field with saplings and blackberry bushes scattered about but no real cover for anything bigger than a house cat to hide from view. About 200-300 feet into the forest my horse stopped and swung her head around towards this field. Ears up and she started sweating and trembling. The hair was standing up on my arms and there was dead silence. No birds singing and even the light breezes had stopped. I looked into the field but saw nothing. Nudged my mare after a bit to keep going but she kept stopping, swinging her head towards the left and started nudging my leg with her head. I looked and looked. Saw nothing but whatever was frightening her kept pace with us for about a quarter mile. I then got very frightened like a cold chill running through me and stopped to listen and look again but could see nothing. It was an isolated area and the dead quiet continued. I decided to turn around and head home as this was something I had never felt before. My horse would look over, now to our right, but calmed down bit by bit as we left the deer trail. I once again heard birds singing and felt breezes blowing. I do believe that something menacing was out in that field that day but told no one what happened for years. Did tell my kids never to ride their horses up in this area without me or other adults along. I also have no doubt that if I had continued down that particular trail that something terrible would have happened to me and my horse. She never acted like this either before or after as she did on that morning. Weird.

I was born and grew up in central PA (Lock Haven area) before moving to one of the oldest cities in America in Florida. Pennsylvania is way scarier and has far more paranormal activity. I always felt like I was being watched and followed as as kid. The hair on my body stands up just thinking about some of my experiences. Great video!

Why if you're being followed by a strange black SUV would you pull into a random empty lot and shut your vehicle off? That is literally the worst thing you can do short of going home and leading them to your house. Drive to a crowded parking lot, or better yet drive to the police station.

My grandparents lived in PA in the mountains. They had their own land which was huge and up a mountain area. All the family’s lived up there a few miles away. I had so much fun, running around the forest area, fire flies, berries. It was so beautiful

As a BSA member we were encamped in 1954 East of Pittsburgh when the Scoutmaster had us decamp, pack up our gear, and leave the area with extreme alacrity! Some of our group had gone down the hill where we had set up the night before, to gather wood for our campfire. They ran back had a quiet meeting with the Staff and we left fast. Now I am sure they encountered a Squatch in their search for firewood! Yes, we got lucky and our Troop never got an explanation!

I moved to rural Pennsylvania from a city my whole life, I can open my front door and blast my semiautomatic 12 gauge and no complaints but if I did that while living in city they'd have SWAT surrounding my house, there's no local cops just state police but my family is protected against any city slickers and sasquatch's 😆 ( I was almost killed by home invasion while living in city didn't own a firearm and was in intensive care almost died!!)

December 10th 2007. I was hiking alone and when I reached Preacher’s rock trailhead I stoped at the parking spot for a break and there was an old grandpa wearing a bright and old green sweater that stinked kinda bad. He was sitting on the back of his van with a golden retriever so I asked him if I could pet his dog ( as I have 2 golden retrievers and they’re the best dogs) he said yes and he started asking me where I was from and what do I do for a living? And if I was hiking alone or in a group? He also asked me if a have any guns or knifes because last week there was a mountain lion attack that almost killed a hiker. I told him not I don’t have a gun but I have a small pocket knife that I showed him. He said that’s not enough to kill a mountain lion. I was like well I hope I don’t encounter one. Then we chatted for a little bit and he started ranting about the federal government. And before I was leaving he told me If he could join me on the trail because he really wanted to hike up but he being an old man and suffering from heart conditions so if something happens to him at least I could tell police where he was. I felt something, a strange sensation in my gut by the way his eyes looked. He had some really penetrating gaze and he would always make direct eye contact that I couldn’t hold so I would look away for some seconds. After thinking what should I say this old grandpa I told him “I’m sorry but I’m in a hurry and I really want to walk fast to get to the top before sunset” he kinda looked mad and said aight I’ll just wait for someone else. I proceeded to hit the trail but I could never forget his gaze. Even tho he was an old man his gaze gave me a bad vibe and I was thinking about it the whole trail. 25 days later when I was at home I watched this same guy in a mugshot on the news channel so I turned the volume up because I was intrigued I thought he died on the trial (because he told me he had heart problems) to find out he kidnapped and killed a girl about 15 miles on another parking lot. The guy I interacted with was fcking serial killer Gary Michael Hilton. I think he asked the same questions and told the same story to Meredith Emerson and she was kind and good hearted so she agreed to hike with the “old grandpa with heart problems”. So now I don’t trust anyone even if they have good intentions and they greet me I just say hi and continue my hike without stopping and if they ask me to stop to ask me a questions I just say sorry I’m in a hurry and keep going. I also carry a 9mm Glock 43x. It’s small and concealable. Another crazy experience happend another year before when I was hiking and at the distance I saw a naked old guy just walking around. So I freaked out and stopped before he was gone. Stay safe guys. Never trust anyone.

I read every comment. Plenty of us from PA that have weird things happen…..That’s awesome….! Glad to see. My occurrence happened May 28, 2010 in the Allegheny National Forest. It changed my life, hunting, fishing, backpack….camping. I wish some of the KEYBOARD JOCKEYS ridiculing people and thinking it’s a joke could experience what I did…..and that’s all I will say about that.

Thank you for the PA stories….congratulations on the book deal….✌️😊

It's amazing what we still don't know. There is so much out there. I love hearing others experiences. I've had my own and I spent a lot of time in the woods in my life. Open your mind, eyes, heart.
