This is truly the most underrated sci-fi movie of all time

As a kid, I tried renting out _"Flight of the Navigator"_ from the VHS store, but like all new and popular films it was always out and reserved. My tummy was filled with a kaleidoscope of butterflies when I finally got to rent the film. I made sure I got my monies worth watching it over and over that day and the next evening. The spaceship model has always stayed with me. A wonderful film to show children.

i love how surreal the ending is when the computer tells him that the process of traveling back could kill him and a little kid has to choose between that and being a guinnea pig for the government for the rest of his life, they don't put stuff like that in kids movies anymore.

This was the first movie I ever saw in theaters when I was a kid. I still vaguely remember being in the dark theater room watching it on the big screen during a scene where the spaceship is flying around. It's still one of my all time favorite movies.

This movie was my introduction to Sci-Fi as a kid, the buildup of the first half is still incredible to this day.

i love this film, not based on a book, i think you can really see the original creativity when it's not based on a book, at least story wise. it's one of my all time favorite films, I'm making a story and the ship is my inspiration.

I saw this in the theater when it came out. The special effects at the time were mind-blowing, and the sense of flight on the big screen was fantastic.

Btw, also wanna point out that if the morphing effects of the spaceship remind you of the T-1000 from Terminator 2, it's because they were both done by the same special effects crew, "Fantasy II".

Man, I used to watch this movie all the time when I was a kid. We lost the tape when my family moved and I haven't seen it in 20 years. I wish I could find a copy somewhere

Baby's first science fiction film. This is a film that takes a great sci-fi premise and makes great use of it while keeping it in a child's perspective.
