A HUGE announcement - ESXI now runs on ARM platforms! Late last week, the ESXI on ARM project announced that the ISO and configuration steps are now available for full consumption, so using my Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB device, I went through the steps to get VMWare vSphere up and running in my environment. It works great! Check below for the following resources

Thanks for the tip on the usb storage. Lots of guides and video blogs did not state it.

Would really love to see this up and running on the rPi CM4, preferably in a cluster config. This could be a homelab game changer with the Turing Pi Cluster board (v2) coming out soon...

I made one! Used a USB SSD instead of the second flash drive. Thanks for all your content, Chuck,

Great video, everything is up and running, but I am having trouble creating the VMs for Debian, etc. would it be possible for you to do another video sometime walking through the steps to create one?
Thanks,
John G

Great video, well explained. My question would be why would you do this? At best any vm you create would have 2 cores and 4gb ram allowing some resources for the host

Great content, thanks for sharing. How are you recording the ESXi screens during the install and setup?

Why can't the target be the SD-MMC instead of a USB drive?

good stuff! thank you!
now... if you remove all the usb devices and pop in a raspian (or any OS) sd card will it behave/be useful as any other RPi or is it now dedicated to ESXi?

You can install ESXi straight back to the device you booted the installer from... All the required files are copied into RAM prior to installation starting. It’s one of the many great things about VMware!

For the life of me, I can not get the UEFI bios to save my config when setting the Limit Memory to 3GB <Disabled> setting. Tried every way imaginable. ESXi 7 always only sees 2.9GB... :(

Nice walkthrough. But Why did You say that it has the latest bootloader version when it clearly states that "*** UPDATE AVAILABLE ***" at 18:52 ?
