Never trust the 'security' of a relationship to protect you from poverty.

I've seen this 4 times with a different title and pictures. There's plenty of homeless in America to make a documentary on every single day.

The fact that we get free documentaries on YouTube by Best Documentary is truly a gift ... Keeping education and knowledge alive. 👏👏👏

Imagine they spend the money on the poor instead of the military

I feel bad for those in need. It seems that some people just don't care about anyone but themselves. I know what it's like not having a place to stay and sleep. Thanks for sharing this video.

Average yearly wage in the US 50k. That is about $3500 a month take home. Try to pay rent and live on that along with saving for retirement. Then when you go on social security you end up with $1500 to $2000 per month. From that amount you are expected to pay premiums for medicare and supplemental insurance because medicare doesn't pay for dental, vision, hearing, and it doesn't cover all hospitalization cost, meds, etc.

Iv never understood why we don't eliminate poverty in all my 60 years . People used to care about people. Family cared about family and they don't anymore. Every homeless person has family. We should hold families responsible for not taking care if their own. It's a disgrace to let anyone go hungry or homeless.

Damn, this is sickening.
Only in a hierarchical society can we have people working 7 days a week and still cannot afford a home.

I'm from Azerbaijan and young people have an American life admiration tendency. I think this is created by movies and social media. There are tons of social problems, including unemployment and corruption in my country but I know some people who managed to get to the USA and come back. They were not able to live there. So weird 😕

When Maria, at the beginning, says that if she lost her car and was forced to enter the shelter system she wouldn't... And would just kill herself, then said it was a joke... It wasn't a joke. Most people feel this way. Autonomy is the most important part of identity. Just being forced to live with my family makes me feel worthless. I would rather live in a car if that meant I was able to do things on my own accord. The US is in serious trouble...

That's just in cities. Just imagine the people in rural America who go destitute... No services for them. They effectively do not exist. The number of houses that have relatives living in trailers in their driveway here is staggering.

Please note dear Americans that USA is not the richest country on a per capita basis, it's just the country with the highest aggregated GDP. Plus most of the wealth in america is owned by the ultra rich

Parents that don't work are pathetic. Unless they're both disabled, there is ALWAYS a way to make at least enough money to feed your kids. Or, STOP HAVING CHILDREN!!! My goodness, it's not fair to the kids.
