Funnily enough, in Legends a Jedi whom Palps was “friends” with tried to get this idea going. He told his “friend” his plan (not knowing that Palps was *the* Sith Lord he was looking for) and he and his padawan were sent by the Chancellor on a suicide mission, resulting in their deaths in battle. So much for that lol

Even if they found out Palpatine was force-sensitive, they can't prove that he was the sith lord. Plenty of parents declined Jedi from taking their force sensitive children if they wanted to.

A high midichlorian count doesn't prove he is the Sith Lord, it just proves that he is Force Sensitive.
