I was gonna correct his pronunciation of Dothraki for a second before remembering he outranks me.

adding more pages developing rob would only mean adding more tears to my eyes

I like the way tv show handled Robb grieving for Ned better than the book. How Catelyn finds him smashing his sword into a tree, tucked away from his men.

I always wish Robb was a viewpoint character... I could have dealt with 1300 pages no problem 😞

Man Richard Madden made Robb so damn likeable. If only he was a viewpoint character in any of the first three books. 😟

There are many characters who could or should have had POV chapters, but two that definitely should NEVER have them are Petyr and Varys. Those two are the greatest schemers in the series, and it would reveal far too much to see the way their heads work -- in fact, I'd argue that it wouldn't even be possible to accurately portray how their heads work with just a chapter. They analyse and plot so much in such a short period of time, and if you could fit that into a chapter, it would ruin the mystery of them and the awe of their vast intelligence and knowledge to have it laid bare.

He's right, he should have had a Dotraki's viewpoint character, at least someone of importance once Drogo died

I think huge part of Robb's downfall were Tully's. They did more wrong to him than Lannisters, to be honest. Catelyn releasing Jaime, Edmure ignoring his orders, Lysa ignoring calls for help.

I like the idea that Robb’s adventures are told second hand to illustrate how perspective changes what the “facts” are.

Sometimes it’s for the best that the most interesting characters don’t have POV chapters, and instead we observe them through others. For me, the most interesting characters are Stannis, Tywin, Baelish and Varys. None of them are POV, and that’s a good thing. It’s more mysterious and interesting that we view Stannis through the eyes of Davos and Jon, we view Baelish through the eyes of Sansa etc. It keeps us guessing and makes for a better story

Good things these books are published occasionally, otherwise I'd keep revising them forever.

I liked that Rob wasn't a POV character, much like Stannis, even though Stannis is my favorite character.

I agree that Robb works better as a non POV character but I wish there was a chapter with Ned and Robb (maybe Ned councilling Robb about running Winterfell before he heads south) and Jon and Robb (maybe a scene where they have a competitive duel in the yard, taunting each other as they're trying to get the better of each other) before they go their separate ways just to build those relationships a bit more.

Thanks whoever asked that question. Now George is going to spend another year creating and getting into the mind of a random Dothraki rider 🤣🤣

A Dothraki point of view character would be amazing.

Richard Madden made Robb my favorite Stark by far. It may have helped he didn’t make it much beyond the book material in the show.

I've always wished Robb had chapters in A Clash of Kings and Storm of Swords. He didn't really need any in the first book but I really would've liked to see his conquest in the Westerlands, marrying Jeyne, etc. And in A Storm of Swords he could've had a couple chapters where he slowly realized he was losing the war, and his decision to put the burden he has on his only remaining sibling (Jon)
