This is showing how the charge and discharge works. I assume the first capacitor was higher capacitance and the second was lower capacitance, hence why the delay of the LED was so much shorter.

Yes an explanation would help...when the power source is disconnected the LED would go off instantly, the capacitor is supplying the "fade out"

Capacitors stores electric charge, when charge up with a battery. Its stores and can lights up an led for a very short time. Try it, use a high farad capacitor.❤

Bit of a lame demo. To answer those who asked . Capacitors, capacitate.😂 they act like a battery storing a charge then releasing it . Only Capacitors have very low internal resistance so they can be charged quickly and dischargsd quickly. In fact almost instantly. One resistor is to limit the current through the led the other resistor is to slow down the charge and discharge time. Which is also determined by the mf value.

Well I did the same thing except a smaller capacitor and removed the LED then put it back on. It turned on then faded.
