Why do Capacitors allow AC, but block DC?

It's well known that a capacitor blocks DC, but allows AC. This video explains the exact reason behind this phenomenon.

Formula: Xc=1/2 Pi as we know that DC signal has 0hz frequency if you substitute this value in reactance Xc formula we get ♾infinity so if the reactance is high then current doesnot pass through it. This is why dc is blocked by capacitor in which we can prove theoritically.

BUT, the capacitor doesn't block DC during the charging process. in fact, when the charging process begins, the capacitor acts like a short. Isn't this correct??

As you said, the current decreases but still exists in part 2. If the source voltage is V = |sin(t)|, it is a DC current and what does the current perform in this case?

Each phase of AC is actually DC; so what capacitors really block is anything above a certain capacitance. Still, effectively it blocks DC more than AC like the video states.
