Peter Gabriel - Red Rain Recording at Air

Following the artistic success of Scratch My Back, 2011’s New Blood delved deep into the Gabriel songbook to strip past glories down to their bare essentials, Peter’s voice again shorn of the rock musician’s usual accompaniment. Instead, a 46-piece orchestra replaces the guitars and amps, John Metcalfe again commissioned to create orchestral arrangements for both timeless classics and less obvious choices.

It is so good to hear new life into this track. So a few months ago I crawled my way through a break down and after a month away from work. I knew I had to go back. That more after a terrible nights sleep I awoke with the strains of Red Rains in my head. Mr Gabriel’s music has been helping me every step of the way. ❤️

one of my fav PG moments is you can hear me yell "PETER" during this song at the West Palm Beach amphitheater show ( they sell the CDs of each show)...in the last 10 seconds of the song.

@Cimbarius If they've filmed all this behind the scenes stuff then certainly I'd be surprised if there was no instrumental version of the CD - there are some exceptional instrumentals that would stand up on their own without Peter's excellent vocals.

XTC's Instruvenus is a very good example..
