Sometimes you may expect chickens but end up with ducks.

"Don't count your chickens until you have chickens" is amazing. I will try to slip this in regular conversation, maybe "you know what they say, don't count your chickens until you have chickens", that will confuse few people.

Don't bother counting your chickens
Always two, there are. No more. No less. A Rooster and an apprentice

I always knew he was a madman - now finally, everyone else is starting to realize this too.

I never knew the Jedi were so fond of poultry. Perhaps it has something to do with the best laid plans of mice and chickens

I'm not entirely certain whether Lindy is channeling a (long ago and far, far away) Jedi Master, or the Discworld's famous philosopher, Didactylus. The clothing indicates a Jedi Master, but the words of wisdom remind me more and more of Didactylus. Perhaps the streams of space-time have become crossed. Or something like that.

Truer words have never been spoken. Wiser wisdom has never been wisened.

As common as this saying is, it just occurred to me that I might count my chickens well before they become fully fledged chickens more often than I should

I consistently read the title as “Germ of Jedi wisdom”

But counting eggs is quite important if you intend to bake a cake with them.

“Don’t… go counting the eggs ‘til they come out the chicken.” Or something.

My left ear heard the wisdom. As my right one did indeed not.

Here In Quebec we have a saying that says : "Ne vends pas la peau de l'ours avant de l'avoir tué."

Which means : "Do not sell the bear's pelt before killing it."

I shall now count my eggs before they are laid. But i shall never count my chickens.

I just counted my chickens before I had chickens. The number was 0
