For one reason or another I’ve seen a lot of posts like this, ranking Gigabyte as one of the least desirable GPU brands, and aside from price of course, there seems to be a lot focus on how much faster an AIB GPU is out of the box than a Founders Edition, or how good the VRMs are, but have we lost focus on what really matters.

You know that tier list is bunk when EVGA is at the bottom. That's not me talking, I've had little to do with EVGA's gpu's because they were Nvidia only up through the 30 series and My first Nvidia gpu in years is the 3060TI I have. Rather it's their rep.

Also the heatsink and power connector placement on the 40xx super gigabytes is amazing, its pushed deeper in the heatsink and it helps a lot for many builds both for looks and for actually fitting in the case.

My Gigabyte 4090 that I bought for MSRP on launch day has been trucking along strong with no issues and excellent performance, excellent temps and excellent noise for almost a year and a half now. The backplate looks pretty nice when conventionally mounted in a normal setup. The plastic front is a little cheap looking but you don't really see it.

The reinforced PCB at the pcie slot on the new Gigabyte cards are simply an admission of guilt on all those cracked PCBs they denied RMAs on. Never again will I buy Gigabyte! F em!!!

I own the gigabyte gaming oc since it came out and its perfect, zero issues, temps are perfect in the 50ish celcius, great card i would recommend pairing it with a lian li anti sag bracket

I recently built mine with this card. It’s really awesome. I did the scan OC on Gigabyte Control Center and I was quite impressed. Getting 2940 mhz and under 60 C temps. It also looks insanely beautiful 😻 in person. Very quiet as well.

Alot of companies have surprisingly got noise levels under control with large chassis, coil whine is lottery had 2 4080's and 4090 with 0% coil, EVGA were honest👍, the 4080, 4090 should be celebrated as engineering masterpieces, if you only game TOUGH.👍

I spent 50 dollars more on the Gigabyte Gaming OC mostly because of the placement of the 12vhpr cable. My PSU is a Thermaltake GF3 and the 12vhpr cable it comes with is 3 inches stiff at both ends and don't want to risk bending it. Also, 6 months in and so far no coil whine. It's been a great card to game and generate AI art.

It's a no brainer to pick a gaming OC over a TUF OC when the former is cheaper, has less coil whine, slightly better VRMs and memory temps, and an extra year of warranty.

Gigabyte is pretty good, my Gigabyte lasted me 7 years before it died.

Honestly, I would probably buy Gigabyte for the card's looks as not only their Nvidia but also AMD GPUS have a cool minimalist design which I like. Their OC versions are also pretty good in terms of performance but nothing significant to make it a no-brainer pick over other models of the same GPU.
